Join Aqua Hut's Kevin Webb at the Old Gin House on St. Eustatius
Welcome to a world that is described by many as old school Caribbean. The Old Gin House Hotel and restaurant is a quant historic waterfront hotel on an ever so interesting island.
The Hotel has a beautiful historic bar, restaurant, ocean terrace, pool and lobby. The Pool is located in the garden next to the garden view rooms. Loungers and pool towels await your arrival any time during the day.
There are many Islands that form the Caribbean. St Eustatius is one of them. The Island lays 33 miles south of Sint Maarten. It has a very rich and interesting history.
Did you know that St Eustatius was the first country of the new world that formally recognized the just formed United States of America in 1776? The incident involved a 13 gunshot salute from fort Oranje. The fort and the canons are still there and beautifully restored to its former glory! If you are interested in the history of the Caribbean, St Eustatius has a lot to offer.
Exploring the many different ecosystems of St. Eustatius is diving in constant changing environments. Almost all of the 36 official sites are moored to save the reef from anchorage. We also love to drift from one site to the other to show you the true hidden treasures.
